SEPAC dyslexia and executive function subcommittees

At Brookline SEPAC’s general meeting on November 14, SEPAC members established two subcommittees addressing particular disabilities: the Dyslexia Subcommittee and the Executive Function Subcommittee.

The subcommittees are open to any Brookline parent, staff or teacher. The subcommittees have four goals:

  1. Learning from experts about the disabilities
  2. Providing a forum where the members can learn from each other
  3. Learning what the Brookline Public Schools has to offer students in terms of testing, trained staff and disability-specific assistance
  4. Helping to educate Brookline teachers and staff about the disability

The chair of the Dyslexia Subcommittee is Peggy Ueda and the chair of the Executive Function Subcommittee is Barr Keener.

We have set up mailing lists for both groups to enable members to share information about the disabilities and the school system’s programs and to help plan upcoming events. All interested parties are urged to become members of the lists and start the discussion. The addresses for the lists are below. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the cochairs — or just join one or both of the lists!
